Ms Imran is a 6th Grade Math Teacher at Atmosphere Academy. She has earned a BA in psychology from New Jersey City University and MA in applied psychology from NYU Steinhardt. She has worked with students of all ages and is currently pursuing a Master of Education /Doctor of Education from Teachers College, Columbia Univerisity in Curriculum & Instruction. Her focus areas are: college/career readiness, social justice, women rights, and student activism. Her long term goal is to create college/career pathway programs for low SES, financially disadvantaged, and marginalized groups. Her passion lies in teaching mathematics and creating strong relationships with her students, families, and the entire school community. Her instruction is tailored to meeting individual students' needs which applies a holistic approach in creating classroom pedagogy. Her interests are traveling to Pakistan, trying new foods, spending time with family, and shopping.
