James Mercado is Atmosphere’s 6th Grade Substitute Teacher, bringing a deep passion for science education to the classroom. With a B.S. in Chemistry from Lehman College and experience as a former Ph.D. student at Purdue University, Mr. Mercado combines strong academic credentials with real-world applications. His teaching experience ranges from high school chemistry to college-level laboratory courses, reflecting his dedication to making science both accessible and engaging for all students.
Mr. Mercado prioritizes building meaningful relationships with students by incorporating compassion, structure, and tailored teaching strategies into his practice. He strives to create a classroom environment where every student feels supported and empowered to succeed.
