We take Atmosphere to the world and the world to Atmosphere
Atmosphere Academy believes that to achieve our mission of fully preparing students to be ready for and succeed in life, we have to expose them to it. By extending their learning outside the traditional classroom setting, Atmosphere Academy scholars develop knowledge, skills, and a deeper understanding of how their learning applies in the real world.
We offer a diverse set of educational field trips in all grades. This kind of experiential learning has been the hallmark of Atmosphere since its inception. These academic trips are linked to course content and expose students to real-life applications.
In Atmosphere’s middle school, the scope and sequence of our field trips seek to provide students with enrichment opportunities outside of the school building while also building their capacity for self-guided discovery. We believe experiential learning is essential to the growth of any child and thus take our scholars on many content-aligned trips.
In addition to the locations directly related to their courses, high school scholars participate in a series of trips that teach them about New York City and possible career pathways while exposing them to various colleges and universities.
- The Explore New York series exposes scholars to various sites outside the Bronx and promotes their enjoyment of the city outside school.
- The College Knowledge Series includes visits to college fairs and various campuses in the Tri-State region.
- The Careers Trips allow scholars to see their desired careers in action. The trips bring them to workplaces to meet professionals in various career fields. These trips are further developed through internships in their junior and senior years. Please see the Career Pathways webpage for more information.
