Atmosphere extends learning outside the traditional classroom setting and develops knowledge, skills and a deeper understanding of what they are learning applied in the real world. Incentives are portals to the greater world around them and their potential future. We are bringing the world to Atmosphere and Atmosphere around the world.
SPAIN
Students learn art, history and culture of Spain by visiting Madrid, Toledo, Grenada, Valencia, and Barcelona.
The Atmosphere HS Explorers Trip to Spain is the Sophomore year international trip. Students qualify by STAR status and fundraise once they are selected. At Atmosphere being immersed in a culture is an important part of learning. Students learned about Spanish food, art and history on this trip with visits to the Prado Museum, Alhambra and amazing Spanish restaurants. For ten days the Sophomores soak up the soccer culture of Barcelona, and 14th century streets of Grenada and Madrid.
EUROPE
High school Explorer students have visited the great cities of Europe: Rome, Milan, Geneva, Paris and London.
Atmosphere Academy High School students experience European life by visiting the great cities of Europe- Rome, Milan, Geneva, and Paris. Visiting the ancient ruins of the Colosseum, the city of Pompeii, and taking a food tour through Paris enhanced their learning through enriching experiences.
JAPAN
A tour of Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Tokyo by cooking and eating traditional foods, and walking through the ancient and modern streets of Japan.
Seniors enjoy 10 days of guided tours of centuries-old temples to the high-speed bullet train. The majesty of Mount Fuji to the modern metropolis of Tokyo. Atmosphere students took classes in traditional calligraphy and hands on demonstrations of Sumo wrestling. The visit to a Japanese high school is a rewarding experience.
Atmosphere High School students can earn enrichments with their STARS status that can positively shape the trajectory of a student’s academic career.
OUTDOOR ADVENTURE TEAM
Atmosphere High School’s 9th grade enrichment program that prepares students for hiking and camping.
Atmosphere’s Outdoor Adventure Team is a 9th grade enrichment where students learn outdoor skills. With our partner the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, OAT had sessions in the park with their VCP guide. Students learned to identify different plants, some basic survival skills and hiking. Students worked on setting up a campsite and eventually OAT went upstate to Taconic State Park for 3 days to hike; cook for themselves, enjoy nature and sit around the campfire.
AVIATION
High school students have a chance to earn their student pilot license by attending the Aviation enrichment program.
The high school enrichment that prepares the scholars for their student pilot’s licence by taking instructions at the Westchester and Farmingdale airports. Students are introduced to flight simulators and have hands-on instruction to become a pilot.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP TEAM
High School students learn business skills to create their own business.
With their STARS status students can take classes to learn to be an entrepreneur and take part in a national competition showcasing their unique business ideas.
