
Atmosphere Academy’s Physical Education Program requires students to participate in physical activities that promote fitness and equip them with lifelong skills for healthy living. Outside facilities are utilized whenever possible to provide additional space for movement and various activities. The curriculum aligns with New York State standards and includes a range of activities aimed at improving the five components of health-related fitness:
- Aerobic capacity
- Muscular strength
- Muscular endurance
- Flexibility
- Body composition

Middle School PE focuses on building foundational physical skills, teamwork, and understanding basic fitness principles through engaging, age-appropriate activities that challenge students while maintaining moderate-to-vigorous physical activity.
Atmosphere Academy’s Health Program follows New York State standards and uses the Health Smart curriculum to provide students with comprehensive health education. The curriculum is differentiated by grade level to meet the specific developmental needs of middle and high school students.
Middle School Health introduces foundational health topics such as:
- Personal and sexual health
- Emotional and mental health
- Nutrition and physical activity
- Tobacco, alcohol, and drug prevention
- Violence and injury prevention
