Rakim Jenkins

Social Studies Teacher

Rakim Jenkins is Atmosphere’s 10th Grade Social Studies Teacher, dedicated to deepening students’ understanding of history and culture. A graduate of The Colin Powell School at CCNY with a double major in Sociology and Black Studies, Mr. Jenkins developed his passion for history through studying African history prior to slavery. He emphasizes restorative justice and project-based learning in his teaching approach and holds a Master’s in Teaching from Relay GSE. Recently awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to develop curriculum in Ghana, Mr. Jenkins also mentors students in global citizenship through I AM C.U.L.T.U.R.E.D., inspiring them to connect with diverse cultural perspectives.
