Operations Associate

Julio Ortiz is Atmosphere’s 10th Grade Operations Associate. Julio’s journey began in the South Bronx but was enriched by his time on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. As the eldest of nine siblings, he set an example by becoming the first in his family to earn a high school diploma. After graduating from Herbert H. Lehman High School, Julio chose to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly achieved the rank of Sergeant of Marines during his eight-year service. Julio’s commitment to making a difference extends beyond his military service. He has dedicated his time to coaching youth sports and serving as a mentor. Upon returning from military service, Julio transitioned into a career focused on helping homeless individuals find housing and rebuild their lives. However, his passion for guiding young people on their path and positively impacting the community led him to the Charter school system, where he now proudly serves. Julio is excited to be part of the Atmosphere family, where he continues to make a meaningful impact on the leaders of tomorrow.
