Arusha Maxwell

School Counselor

Arusha Maxwell is Atmosphere’s 10th Grade School Counselor. She comes from a long line of educators on her father’s side. She was born in Brooklyn, where she lived most of her life. However, when she was 8 months old, her father began teaching in Tanzania, Africa, where she and her family lived for 4 years. While she attended Lincoln U. on a journalism scholarship, she welcomed her great gift from God, her son Kareem. She later went on to receive her undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science from Mercy College, while beginning her 25-year career in the DOE. She then decided to follow her passion and attended LIU Brooklyn to receive her Master’s in School Counseling. She loves working with youth and looks forward to continued success at Atmosphere.
