The Academy of Aviation internship introduces students to the education, training, and responsibilities required to pursue a career in aviation. Students study flight principles, aircraft systems, navigation, weather, and Federal Aviation Administration requirements while preparing for the pilot written examination. Classroom instruction and flight-simulator training provide firsthand exposure to the knowledge and discipline required of professional pilots.

This internship combines college-level instruction with direct exposure to the criminal justice system. Visits to the Bronx Criminal Courts allow students to observe legal proceedings and connect classroom learning to the daily operation of the justice system.
