National Honor Society
A community that recognizes the scholarship, service, leadership, and character students bring to Atmosphere Academy and the world around them.
About the Society
Honor earned through how you show up.
Founded in 1921, National Honor Society inspires scholarship, service, leadership, and character in young people. At Atmosphere Academy, students are selected not only for their strong academic record, but also for the service and leadership they bring to our school and community.
Service
A willingness to contribute to the school and the wider community.
Leadership
The confidence to help others, take initiative, and set a positive example.
Character
The integrity and responsibility that guide a student’s choices every day.
Selection Process
A thoughtful path to induction.
National Honor Society membership is considered through a faculty-led process that reflects both academic achievement and the contributions students make beyond the classroom.

Invitation
Students are invited to complete an intake form.

Recommendations
Students receive two teacher recommendations.

Faculty Review
The faculty council deliberates and makes final selections.

Induction
Selected students are inducted into the National Honor Society.
Selection Criteria
Set a high bar. Reach it together.
Students must meet each of the following requirements to be eligible for National Honor Society consideration at Atmosphere Academy.
- Currently enrolled in grade 10, 11, or 12
- A cumulative GPA of 3.5
- 3-Star status or above
